Final Fight - Demo 2003

(click for full-size scans of the sleeve)

Here I am again, this time with a little change of pace so to speak. Final Fight is no doubt a familiar name to most Americans involved with the California, especially Bay Area, hardcore scene. Most of those kids, however, haven't heard what this band sounded like when they first started out. That's where I've chosen to come in, since I haven't seen this demo being passed around on any other blogs and I happen to own a copy of it. This, if you haven't already figured it out, is their first demo from 2003, the first material they ever recorded (to my knowledge.) Compare this to their newest material and you can see just how far this band has come.
This CD-R is long, long "out of print," so feel free to distribute this as you wish. I'm sure the band wouldn't mind. ...And if they do, well, I guess I'll be taking it down as soon as they get in contact with us.

I found this link amongst a list of 90s emo uploads. It is listed as 'Via - Demo'. This is the original link. I've googled about a little bit just now but can't find any info about it. Not had a chance to listen to it yet. Just putting it here incase it is pretty hard to find or something. If you know anything about this, edit my post or something!

Ethel Meserve - Spelling The Names

Solid 90s 'midwest emo' band formed in a college etc. etc. LIYL: christie front drive, boys life, other midwest stuff. Pretty obscure/little known.

Myspace fanpage

Forget what I think about ebay -- you can get this cd and a lot of other tree records releases here. There is a lot of stuff that I haven't been able to find anywhere else in that store - so it is probably worth a look at least.

mesa verde - amor fati

Mesa Verde play a pretty crucial brand of screamo with plenty of instrumental passages and plenty of angry. A few months after forming, they played their debut show supporting Yage (if that means anything to you). Coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy the majority of screamo, this band are well worth the time of day and their shows are always a lot of fun!

Park Ranger Barkwood- We are not Brothers EP

Herro, I'm Michelle, the chick posting along with all these other radical dudes. I like a lot of emo but I don't think my posts will be limited to that at all.
My first post consists of an east coast guitar and drum duo that will rock yer world. It's for all you fans of the wave of Algernon Cadwallader knock-off bands. All they have released so far is this EP and if you message them via myspace you can snag a handmade one. And don't be shy to start a convo when you message them, Cody was giving me bike tips and is a really friendly dude. Little to no cost from what I hear from a friend, I'm about to ask for mine once I get around to it.

Buddha on the Moon - On Holiday 7"

(click for full-size scans of the sleeve)

Hey. My name is Ryan and I am another contributor to this newfound blog. I will be concentrating mostly on the genres of pop and shoegaze, but I will be touching on other various genres as well, when I feel like it. This is my first post.
The first band I will be sharing is Buddha on the Moon, a pop band from Houston, Texas, that combines both the elements of pop and shoegaze without jeopardizing their respective sounds. I actually got into this band about a month ago, and I was very excited to find a copy of their 7" On Holiday for $0.50 at a record store in the City, among other records which I will be ripping and posting like I did with this one. I could only find one other blog that has this record so it's not too much of a repost I suppose. Anyway, get into this.
This record is long out of print, so feel free to pass this around. Like I said I don't see this being posted anywhere else, really, so spread it!

drunk in hell - "demo"

demo
Another one made avaliable by the band.

Dirty, lo-fi, down-tuned sludgey stuff from the UK. Dead heavy, great atmosphere.

The 'influences' section on their myspace reads:
"BOOZE, DRUGS, SEX AND VIOLENCE, PORN, ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION HELL, PERSONALITY DISORDERS, INSOMNIA, PARANOIA, HANGING AROUND WAITING TO SCORE, SCORING SHIT GEAR, SHIT NIGHTS OUT, HANGOVERS, COMEDOWNS, BOREDOM, THE DOLE, BEING FUCKING BROKE, RELIGION, PROSTITUTES, CHAVS, STUPID FUCKING SLAGS, CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIENDS, SERIAL KILLERS, ARSEHOLE 'FRIENDS', DEAD FRIENDS, PARMOS, ETC."

Get into this!

--> I've copied this post straight from hardcorefuckingrules.blogspot.com. I can see that blog going to shit if this picks up. (hope so!)

uncalm - demo

Demo
Myspace

'sup guys? First post.

Uncalm are a fucking solid band from Edinburgh. Really fast, really angry. I've only seen them a few times so far 'cos Edinburgh is a bit of a trek and I've been pretty broke for a while. They're playing Glasgow on the 14th though -- I'll definitely be at that!
They've put their demo up for free download. As far as I know, they don't have any 'merch' just now. I'll let you know if/when they put stuff out.
This is Scottish Hardcore.

P.S. --> If I ever up stuff by a Scottish/UK bands, and you want to get a hold of some of their stuff, give me a shout and I'll see if I can help you save on shipping somehow (combine p&p for a few band's stuff or mail everyone's stuff to one person). I dunno -- whatever helps. Take it easy!
